You Know You Want to...

Screw Hooters, UPS and Woodford Reserve -- this is more like it:

Suffolk Downs has announced that the purse for this year’s Massachusetts Handicap will be $5 million if Big Brown wins the Triple Crown and both he and 2007 Breeders’ Cup Classic (gr. I) winner Curlin remain unbeaten in 2008, and go on to start in the MassCap against one another. The $5 million would include a $1 million participation bonus for each.
I'd hop the train to Boston for that; it's about time I paid my dear old college track a visit.

Depending on when the race was, I would so be be there. Though I would be even more excited if Rags to Riches was involved or even Invasor

Oh my God! I would be a nervous wreck being a Curlin fan, so much for my thinking Big Brown is no real competitor! I will go to Suffolk Downs if they do this, I will go anywhere if they do this!

As a bonefied native of MA (now residing in PA), I read this article with joy. I would be there in a second (even if the purse was "only" $3mill!)
Love Big Brown, but I need a drug free TC winner. So, go Casino Drive and Icabad Crane!

At first I really liked this idea. But after thinking about it, how often has a winner of a Triple Crown race gone to Europe and won the Arc? If memory serves me correctly, the Arc is the only race that has more prestige than the Derby when listed in black-type. If Curlin could go to France and win the Arc, his place in history would be undisputable. Therefore, I have to disagree and hope Curlin remains on the Arc trail.

Well, the MassCap is what, 3 weeks out from the Arc? Curlin could use it as a workout...
