Back in Business

Superfecta is back from the shore and back to (almost) normal business, although this will still be something of an odd week. Curlin had his final work for his turf debut earlier; the Man O' War is still the preferred option, and it seems that the details of his New York license will be worked out (or not) later today.

In the meantime, his minority owners will be looking forward to their re-trial and it would seem that the judge in the case was not particularly impressed with their transfer of their portion of his ownership (along with that of Einstein) to their wife and girlfriend (for some odd reason).

With Curlin pointing toward the Arc (Zarkava is still the favorite at this point, even though it's been a while since a filly or a 3-year-old won), Vic Zast wonders who could possibly be the marquee names for the Breeders' Cup this year; I had a little chuckle at his take on Big Brown:

Big Brown, number three in the [NTRA] poll, is headed for the Classic, although his molasses-slow workout last week portends a mysterious pre-stallion illness. It'll happen either before he runs his next race or after it. Note, the word Haskell is missing.

My Breeders' Cup Classic dream as of now would be for a Zenyatta-Einstein-Casino Drive trifecta box...

Randy Moss tipped Go Between for the Classic and is not way off base.

Likes Poly, Bill Mott and is coming into form nicely.

Welcome back, how was the beer?

Go Between is definitely a contender, you're right.

Good beer, thanks!
